Agencies<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combined agents yarded 700 at Murgon&#8217;s Fat and Store Sale on Tuesday and export cattle were slightly dearer in places, with store cows selling to very strong rates.  <\/p>\n<p>The better runs of weaner steers and heifers were also very strong.  <\/p>\n<p>Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Mt Perry, Durong, Kingaroy, Nanango, Kilkivan and the Murgon district.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sale results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy Bulls topped at $3.17\/kg and $2600\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bullocks sold to $3.43\/kg for $2287\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy Cows over 500kg topped at $2.91\/kg and $2140, averaging $2.72\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cows 400-500kg sold to $2.87\/kg for a $2.63\/kg average\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lighter Cows under 400kg topped at $2.47\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Few Export heifers were on offer, selling to $3.16\/kg and $1620\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Hereford steers from Manumbar sold for $1894 at $3.58\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Local Santa steers weighing 465kg sold for $3.81\/kg to return $1772\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>4 tooth Gelbvieh steers from Johnstown sold for $1493 at $3.64\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Red Angus steers from Boyneside sold for $1303 at $4.22\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Local Brangus steers from Moondooner sold to $4.06\/kg, returning $1328\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Good quality Santa steers from Crownthorpe sold for $3.98\/kg at $1503\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>307kg Droughtmaster steers from Nanango also sold for $3.98\/kg to return $1222\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Droughtmaster cross weaner steers from Ban Ban Springs sold for $4.35\/kg and $903\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>243kg Droughtmaster weaner steers sold to $4.32\/kg for $1050\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Light Angus weaner steers from Goomeri sold for $4.76\/kg and $710\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Most better quality steers under 200kg sold between $4.40\/kg and $4.60\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Limousin weaner heifers from Wondai sold for $1271 at $3.91\/kg\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Charolais cross heifers weighing 307kg sold to $3.86\/kg, returning $1187\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Light Charolais heifers sold for $4.18\/kg and $836\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Light Angus heifers sold to $4.26\/kg and $568\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Once again, most lightweight heifers under 200kg sold for $4.00-plus per kilo.\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A line of 40 Charolais cross store cows from During sold for an average of $2.83\/kg and $1356, topping at $1564\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>34 Charolais cross cows from Ironpot sold for an average of $2.61\/kg and $1234\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Brahman cross Cows and Calves sold to $1770\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The next Murgon Fat and Store Sale will be held at the Murgon Saleyards on Tuesday, October 6 at 8:00am, followed by the Coolabunia Saleyards at noon.<\/strong>
