Origin Energy has donated a range of specialist equipment to Kingaroy TAFE for students to use while studying\u00a0electrotechnology.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Ralston nitrogen analyser, Rosemount process controllers, thermocouples, harp transmitters, bypass controllers and associated switch gear will be used in the campus’ instrument lab.<\/p>\n

The equipment will give apprentices the opportunity to learn about the current technology used in industry.<\/p>\n

Electrotechnology teacher Gerard Fox said that as technology advances, so does industry\u2019s expectations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese instruments will be used for our Certificate III and IV Instrumentation students to calibrate and commission in a real-world scenario on campus,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The updated technology will ensure apprentices have the skills required to take advantage of growth in the industry.<\/p>\n

The electrical services industry is one of the largest special construction industries in Australia. <\/p>\n

There is a strong demand for electricians specialising in telecommunications, instrumentation and information technology, as well as security and electronic control systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe skills that our students gain from working with this equipment are transferrable across industries and will set them up to take advantage of the electrical careers of the future,\u201d Mr Fox said<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
