Goomeri Pumpkin Festival co-ordinator Kim Boyter has been named one of Gympie Region’s two 2020 Senior Citizens of the Year.<\/p>\n

Kim is well-known for her work with the Pumpkin Festival but also helped create the Goomeri Gourmet and Twilight markets.<\/p>\n

The second Senior Citizen of the Year named on Friday was Theebine community volunteer Bevan Day.<\/p>\n

Bevan has been active in many community organisations, including the Theebine State School P&C, Probus Gympie and the Theebine Hall Committee.<\/p>\n

Gympie Regional Council announces the annual Senior Citizens of the Year awards as part of Seniors Week (August 17-25) activities.<\/p>\n

They recognise a man and woman aged over 60 who have made a significant contribution during the past year to the Gympie region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
