More than 450 people attended the South Burnett Community Flood Recovery information meetings held last week.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council\u2019s General Manager of Communities Eleanor Sharpe said the Community Recovery sub-committee was very pelased with the roll up.<\/p>\n

The recovery sessions were supported by representatives from support agencies, including BIEDO (Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation), BMRG (Burnett Mary River Group), AgForce, Centrelink, the Department of Communities and Centacare.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil was aware there were people needing assistance and it was great to see them attending the sessions and getting the information they needed,\u201d Natural Resources and Parks spokesperson Cr Kathy Duff said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to stress that this is certainly not the end of people being able to access these agencies and the information in regards to grants, loans and assistance. If you missed one of the information sessions contact one of the agencies for information and assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Community Recovery sub-committee will organise follow-up sessions in June.<\/p>\n
