More details have been released about the upcoming “Festival of the Dams” – sponsored by the South Burnett Regional Council – which will be held at Lake Boondooma this month.<\/p>\n

Forty teams will be competing for a total of\u00a0$15,000 worth of prizes plus custom-made trophies on\u00a0August 14-16.<\/p>\n

Organisers Fishing Freshwater<\/a><\/strong> announced late last week all team spots had now been booked.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said although all the nominations were filled, the public had been invited to come along to the dam to enjoy the festivities.<\/p>\n

There will be live entertainment on the Friday night and lucky draws and raffles on the Saturday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meals and other food options will also be available for competitors and visitors during the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome along and celebrate the re-opening of the dams,” Mayor Brett Otto said.<\/p>\n

“The fishing has been amazing at Lake Boondooma and the competition is forecast to break a record 400 fish catch.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur region is blessed with two great family-friendly dams that offer superb recreation facilities, great fishing and excellent accommodation options. Bring your caravan, tent or treat yourself to a cabin and enjoy tranquillity and fishing excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all accommodation at Lake Boondooma, including unpowered sites, must be pre-booked.\u00a0Bookings can be made online<\/a>\u00a0or by phoning (07) 4168-9694.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Advance bookings are also required at Bjelke-Petersen Dam and can be made online<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>or by calling (07) 4168-4746.<\/p>\n

Visitors at both dams are required to register their details, pay one night in advance upon booking and pay fees in full within seven days of arrival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
