Queensland Health has issued a Public Health Alert in relation to the three latest confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State.<\/p>\n

The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week.<\/p>\n

She is an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbane\u2019s southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has been temporarily closed until further notice.<\/p>\n

The second case is her 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

This individual is an employee of the YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care.<\/p>\n

Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have been temporarily closed until further notice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said contact tracing was under way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we are still determining where the virus may have been acquired, we are working closely with these women to gather necessary information, including other places they may have visited whilst infectious,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs always, we strongly recommend everyone with symptoms, particularly people who have travelled interstate recently, to immediately get tested. Vigilance is key to keeping community transmission out of Queensland.”<\/p>\n

Any individuals who were present at the below locations at the relevant times have been asked to immediately self-quarantine and contact 13 HEALTH (13-43-25-84).<\/strong><\/p>\n

                          Queensland Health will provide additional location information in relation to these cases via a Public Health Alert when it is available.<\/p>\n
