Sadly, most South Burnett stables have not enjoyed much luck in recent weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However trainer Tom Moloney, a vice-president of the Burrandowan Picnic Race Club, and owners Dorothy and Bob Black, a BPRC committee member, have had some fun with Diggity.<\/p>\n

The chestnut has put together a 6:2-2-1 form line this preparation.<\/p>\n

The only failure for the four-year-old gelding was registered on April 19 at Bundaberg.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, he was resuming after a five month absence and was also handling a sand surface for the first time.<\/p>\n

The sprinter\u2019s haul includes a Gayndah victory , a win and three placings at Dalby and a second at Gatton.<\/p>\n

Diggity\u2019s other two Queensland appearances yielded a Maiden success at Mount Perry last November and a third at Thangool a fortnight later.<\/p>\n

Since relocating from Michael and Luke Cerchi\u2019s Flemington team, the son of Equinao (Fr), twice the King\u2019s Stand Stakes hero at Royal Ascot, has picked up more than $23,000 in prize money.<\/p>\n

Magnus, Diggity\u2019s maternal sire, was the product of Flying Spur and Scandinavia, the grand-dam of Black Caviar.<\/p>\n

Nanango Welcomes Patrons Back<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Saturday, August 1 will be the perfect way to kick off the brand new racing season when Lee Park re-opens for racing and patrons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The biosecurity requirements for jockeys, trainers and officials that have proved effective in the Covid-19 era will continue.<\/p>\n

Of course, there will be implications for racegoers.<\/p>\n

They must sign a register at the racecourse entry point and observe the rules about social distancing that will be displayed around the track.<\/p>\n

Hand sanitisers will also be available, and the Nanango Race Club will be positioning their tables and chairs on the outdoor lawn space.<\/p>\n

The bar, barbecue, bookmakers and the TAB will all be operating as usual, too, as will the noon bus from Glendon Street at Kingaroy and the bus that leaves at 12:30pm from behind Nanango\u2019s Fitzroy Hotel.<\/p>\n

Bundaberg Beckons<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This weekend\u2019s Bundaberg fixture holds some interest for the South Burnett fraternity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Firstly, it is great to see that Hannah Richardson will be back in the saddle.<\/p>\n

Last Saturday at Roma, she was dislodged when Jennifer Magic blundered shortly after barrier rise.<\/p>\n

There was some discomfort in her right knee and she had to forgo her remaining engagements.<\/p>\n

Jockey Hannah Phillips and trainers Glenn Richardson and Kym Afford will also be participants while Lindsay Anderson will be hoping that Clouds can return to the winner\u2019s slot.<\/p>\n

The Bradbury\u2019s Luck gelding will be asked to carry just 53.5 kilograms.<\/p>\n

His 46 runs to date include only one other assignment with such a light weight – at Caloundra in March 2019 when he collected the minor money.<\/p>\n

The grey will appreciate the four kilogram claim that will apply courtesy of Ty Wheeler, the rookie Toowoomba apprentice who booted home Stryking Princess at his career debut at Chinchilla on July 4.<\/p>\n

The 21 year-old, whose first six rides harvested four first placings, added a treble at Esk seven days later.<\/p>\n
