Kingaroy RSL dominated the 2013 A Grade South Burnett competition and their form didn’t let them down during today’s Grand Final against the Nanango Scorpions.<\/p>\n

Anthony Eden led the way with the bat for RSL knocking out a century in quick time at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Eden hit nine fours and three sixes along the way to his 119. Brady Roberts also added a handy 48 to Kingaroy’s run total.<\/p>\n

At the end of their 45 overs, Kingaroy was 7\/242.<\/p>\n

Best of the Nanango bowlers was Dylan Gilliland who took 4\/65 off nine overs.<\/p>\n

Nanango openers Brendan Weil and Jay Steinhardt looked to be making a start when Weil was bowled by Tony Dugdell for 8.<\/p>\n

Weil was the first of Dugdell’s victims on the day. The fast bowler ripped through the Scorpions’ batting attack, taking seven wickets for just 17 runs off eight overs, including two maidens.<\/p>\n

Nanango was all out for 64 in the 22nd over. Top scorer was Jon Alexander with 15.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL have now claimed back-to-back A Grade premiership titles.<\/p>\n

It is also the second year in a row that a woman has been included in one of the sides playing in the men’s grand final.<\/p>\n

Last year it was Holly Ferling who bowled for Kingaroy RSL (and later went on to play for Australia in the Woman’s World Cup competition in India).<\/p>\n

This year, bowler Lauren Hume turned out for the Scorpions.<\/p>\n

Ferling watched the grand final from the sidelines; she had not played enough games with Kingaroy RSL this year to qualify to play in the final.<\/p>\n
