The 2013 South Burnett rugby league season will be getting under way this weekend with the first round of junior games being played at grounds throughout the region.<\/p>\n

  • Friday night<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Cherbourg Hornets v Murgon Mustangs (at Cherbourg)<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Saturday<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Wondai Wolves v Nanango Stags (at Wondai)
      \nKingaroy Red Ants v Blackbutt Timbertowners (at Kingaroy)
      \nCentral Burnett has the bye<\/p>\n

      And one for the diaries … the 2013 Junior Grand Finals will be played at Gayndah.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      * * *<\/p>\n

      Senior rugby league games will kick off on the weekend after Easter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      South Burnett Rugby League vice-president Greg Pomfret told\u00a0southburnett.com.au<\/strong>\u00a0there would be five teams competing in the A Grade competition: Blackbutt, Cherbourg, Kingaroy, Nanango and Wondai.<\/p>\n

      Every team would play six home games, six away games and have three byes.<\/p>\n

      The draw has been designed to to feature multiple games at the one venue every week.<\/p>\n

      The first round will be a double header played at TJ O’Neill Oval in Kingaroy on April 6: \u00a0Kingaroy v Blackbutt, Cherbourg v Wondai (Nanango will have the bye).<\/p>\n

      Some games may also be played against Central Burnett sides at either Gayndah or Mundubbera mid-season, but this is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

      * * *<\/p>\n

      In the U16s competition<\/strong>, Kingaroy, Nanango, Murgon, Cherbourg and Central Burnett will be fielding teams (ie no Wondai or Blackbutt).<\/p>\n

      In the Bundaberg U18s competition,<\/strong> two South Burnett teams will again be competing this season: Kingaroy and Murgon (both teams will contain players from other clubs).<\/p>\n
