Noticed the electronic sign outside Nanango State School in Drayton Street?<\/p>\n

The school’s P&C had tried\u00a0 to get a Gambling Community Benefit Grant to erect the sign, but had no luck.<\/p>\n

So the group approached the Heritage Nanango Community Fund to see if they could help with the project.<\/p>\n

Heritage stumped up $10,000 and with a co-contribution from the school, the sign became a reality earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Treasurer Ann Black said the P&C\u00a0would like to thank Heritage Bank Nanango for sponsoring the sign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It will be the school\u2019s way to instantly communicate with not only 500 students, staff and volunteers but also family members, as well as the wider community,” she said.<\/p>\n

Everything from information about upcoming camps and parades to vital day-to-day school news is featured on the sign, which is updated regularly.<\/p>\n

“In our area where phone and internet coverage can be limited, communication with families can prove difficult at times,” P&C President Leonie Legge said.<\/p>\n

“To have this new sign that can be instantly updated with messages may be the only contact point between the school and community.”<\/p>\n
