Goomeri residents could be the big winners from the latest Works For Queensland round of funding<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Goomeri and Kilkivan could prove to be the big winners from the State Government’s latest Works For Queensland council grants round.<\/p>\n

The special COVID stimulus round will support 520 council-nominated shovel-ready projects across Queensland, which the State Government says will support or create more than 4600 jobs.<\/p>\n

In the Gympie Regional Council area, projects that have been submitted for funding include finishing touches to the Kilkivan Equestrian Centre, upgrades to the Goomeri skate park and the re-opening of the Goomeri swimming pool.<\/p>\n

Cherbourg Council applied for funding for upgrades to the town’s\u00a0skate park, footpath extensions, upgrades at the cemetery and the erection of a town clock.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council has not released a list of its proposed projects.<\/p>\n

Toowoomba Regional Council qualified for Works For Queensland funding for the first time under this special COVID round but the list of its proposals also has not been released.<\/p>\n

The total amounts to be received by each Council:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Gympie – $4.19 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • South Burnett – $3.3 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
