Police search a Holden Commodore in William Street, Kingaroy, on Tuesday afternoon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A 40-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with going armed in public to cause fear after an incident involving a gel blaster near Memorial Park in Kingaroy on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

After receiving numerous calls from the public, police rushed to William Street just after 2:00pm after reports a man had a firearm.<\/p>\n

Photographs published on social media showed a black handgun pointing out the driver’s window of a blue Commodore.<\/p>\n

Police will allege the man pointed the gel blaster towards vehicles and fired it as they drove past.<\/p>\n

He then allegedly got out of the vehicle, walked around and fired the gel blaster again before getting back into the car.<\/p>\n

Police seized a gel blaster at the scene and took a man into custody.<\/p>\n

The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 3.<\/p>\n
