Applications for Toowoomba Regional Council\u2019s next round of community grants opened on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Cr James O\u2019Shea said community and not-for-profit groups were invited to apply for funding to assist their projects or events.<\/p>\n

Applications must be lodged by August 1.<\/p>\n

The current funding program covers applications for the following categories: Sport and Recreation, Events, Community, Community Economic Development, Environment, Cultural and Arts and Sports Tourism.<\/p>\n

Mayor Paul Antonio said Community Economic Development Grants would be capped at $5000 for each application, with a yearly limit of two grants per applicant.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil is determined to support our Chambers of Commerce, Progress Associations and other not-for-profit groups who meet the selection criteria for the economic grants,\u201d Mayor Antonio said.<\/p>\n

\u201cResidents can call 13-18-72<\/strong> to book a consultation with relevant staff to arrange for help with tailoring grant proposals,\u201d Cr O\u2019Shea said.<\/p>\n
