June 29, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a miracle no one was badly injured when an out-of-control 4WD crashed through plate glass windows and doors at the Lifeline Furniture shop in Kingaroy Street on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said several small children were on the footpath at the time but were pushed to safety by a family member.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred about 11:30am.<\/p>\n

The elderly male driver of the 4WD apparently lost control of the vehicle as he was reversing out of a car parking spot on the other side of the road.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then struck another vehicle travelling in Kingaroy Street before spearing backwards through the glass doors and windows of the former Elders building.<\/p>\n

Fortunately there was no one in the shop as shattered glass rained down.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0staff member had only left the building a few minutes earlier.<\/p>\n

The driver of the 4WD was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital for observation.<\/p>\n

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.<\/p>\n

Police investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
