After enjoying a successful and competitive season, Warriors cricket club had a tough day on Saturday … losing the B Grade Grand Final and being knocked out of the A Grade competition.<\/p>\n

At Taabinga State School, Wondai clinched the South Burnett Cricket B Grade title with a 99-run victory over Warriors.<\/p>\n

Wondai were 8\/225 after their 40 overs.<\/p>\n

James Cameron top-scored with 91 while Matt Stumer was impressive on his way to 60.<\/p>\n

Evan O\u2019Rourke made a handy 28.<\/p>\n

Brodie Dionysius (2\/21 off five overs) and Allen Christensen (2\/41 off seven overs) were the best of the Warriors’ bowlers.<\/p>\n

In reply, Warriors were dismissed for 116.<\/p>\n

Hayden Wieck top scored (38) and Matt Nesbitt (35) also had a good knock. Steve Price was (14).<\/p>\n

Best of the Wondai bowlers were James Cameron (3\/30 off six overs) and Clayton Graham (2\/23 off eight overs).<\/p>\n

Nanango Scorpions have secured the remaining slot in the A Grade Cricket Grand Final after defeating Warriors in the last over of the knockout final played at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nanango batted first and scored just over 200 runs.<\/p>\n

The game came right down to the wire: Warriors needed seven runs – and Nanango needed two wickets – in the last over to achieve victory.<\/p>\n

Nanango got their wickets.<\/p>\n

The grand final will be played between last year’s premiers, Kingaroy RSL, and Nanango on Saturday at Lyle Vidler Oval.<\/p>\n
