Last year’s premiers Panthers won’t be getting a chance to defend their title after the scrapping of the 2020 South Burnett Women’s competition on Monday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

COVID-19 restrictions have dashed hopes a junior soccer competition could go ahead in a restricted form in the South Burnett this year.<\/p>\n

Football South Burnett made the difficult decision on Monday night to scrap plans to hold the Under 12\/13 and Cadet competitions.<\/p>\n

The Senior Women’s competition was also cancelled.<\/p>\n

“The two main reasons were low player numbers and also trying to work with the COVID-19 restrictions,” a Football South Burnett spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“The Senior Men are going to try to formulate a plan to play a small-sided competition in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Thank you to all clubs and their volunteers who have been scratching to try to give our players a competition.”<\/p>\n
