Yarraman residents will also be celebrating after Friday’s announcement of\u00a0Building Better Regions Fund projects, with $27,750 Federal cash to flow to the town.<\/p>\n

The money will support a new event, the\u00a0Yarraman Finish Line Festival, which will be held\u00a0in Station Park at the finishing line of the new Brisbane Valley Festival of Cycling.<\/p>\n

The 2020 Festival of Cycling – organised by the BVRT Users Association – was to be held on July 4 but has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

When re-scheduled, the event will feature 75km, 100km, 161km and 180km challenges for riders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you\u2019re a keen cyclist or just looking to experience a new event, the Yarraman Finish Line Festival is going to be a hit,\u201d Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe exciting thing about this festival is that there will be something for people who live in the area and tourists.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe more we can bring people together to experience a race and enjoy the vibes of the festival, the better.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a firm believer in bringing people together for an enjoyable time because it has a positive flow-on effect on our quality of life and how we support each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to see this event grow in size and popularity and help bridge the rural\/urban divide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like a race to pique people\u2019s curiosity and show visitors what\u2019s great about the bush.<\/p>\n

\u201cTourism is a viable industry and gives our region a boost through the drought. I have no doubt that the Yarraman Finish Line Festival is going to support local businesses, too.”<\/p>\n
