June 3, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a childcare centre in Kingaroy last Thursday (May 28).<\/p>\n

Police allege that just after 7:35pm, a man approached two staff members – a 35-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman – as they were locking up.<\/p>\n

The man produced a knife and demanded the keys before grabbing a lanyard from around the neck of the 35-year-old woman.<\/p>\n

A scuffle has ensued between the woman and the man.<\/p>\n

The woman managed to retrieve a key before the man left along Ivy Street in possession of the lanyard and an identification card.<\/p>\n

Neither of the women suffered any physical injuries during the incident.<\/p>\n

The thief was wearing a balaclava and black clothing, was about 170cm tall and of thin build.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
