Queensland’s COVID-19 restrictions eased again from noon on Monday (June 1) but what exactly are the changes?<\/p>\n

Barriers to travel within Queensland have been removed – except for remote areas and discrete Indigenous communities such as Cherbourg.<\/p>\n

Queenslanders will be able to undertake unlimited travel including overnight stays \u2013 by road, rail and air – but only within Queensland. The State’s borders remain closed.<\/p>\n

There will also be a further easing of restrictions at pubs, cafes, restaurants, gyms, museums, art galleries and places of worship.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cRestaurants, cafes and pubs that continue to operate under a COVID Safe checklist will be permitted to increase the total number of patrons from 10 to 20,\u201d Deputy Premier and Health Minister Steven Miles said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd from Friday this week (June 5), with a COVID Safe industry plan, venues with more space will be able to go further and allow up to 20 people in each separate area, seated for meals or drinks.<\/p>\n

“For example, some surf clubs, pubs and RSLs may have four or five defined separate indoor and outdoor areas. They can have 20 people in each of these areas if the areas are big enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, every venue must continue to adhere to strict social distancing rules, including limiting each patron to an area of four square metres and adhere to hygiene protocols.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe same restrictions will apply to gyms and other health clubs, parks, museums and art galleries, in churches and places of worship and other public facilities such as libraries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn relation to community sporting events where clubs have more than one field, limits of 20 spectators per field will apply.”<\/p>\n

Some South Burnett venues are expected to take immediate advantage of the easing of restrictions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL Club is scheduled to re-open for lunch and dinner on June 1o, subject to the approval of its COVID Safe plan.<\/p>\n
