{"id":258585,"date":"2020-05-26T16:16:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T06:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=258585"},"modified":"2020-09-17T16:01:23","modified_gmt":"2020-09-17T06:01:23","slug":"1m-drought-projects-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2020\/05\/26\/1m-drought-projects-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"$1m Drought Projects Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_150551\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-150551\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-150551\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/davidlittleproud.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/davidlittleproud.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/davidlittleproud-171x300.jpg 171w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-150551\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Agriculture Minister and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>May 26, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>South Burnett Regional Council will receive $1 million from the Federal Government\u2019s &#8220;Drought Communities Program Extension&#8221; for a string of local projects.<\/p>\n<p>The extra funding was announced recently by Member for Maranoa David Littleproud.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The program is designed to use local tradies and local suppliers to build infrastructure as a stimulus for communities impacted by drought,&#8221; Mr Littleproud said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Drought doesn\u2019t just impact farmers &#8211; it affects the communities that support them and they need help, too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funded projects in the South Burnett include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employment of a Drought Response Officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Installation of shade structures over barbecue areas in Butter Factory Park and Pioneer Park, Nanango<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Replace the top of both barbecues with stainless steel instead of tiles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install three bike racks in Nanango&#8217;s CBD that complement its heritage theme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install a shade sail and solar lighting in Butter Factory Park<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Trickle irrigation for garden beds around Nanango<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Revamp Pioneer Park&#8217;s skate park<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Erect a shade shelter at the Blackbutt Skate Park<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install a picnic table at Barambah Creek on the South Burnett Rail Trail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Reseal Apex Park carpark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Replace the roof of Nanango Tennis Club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade Maidenwell Hall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Paint the children&#8217;s pool at Kingaroy Pool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Repairs and minor maintenance of Kingaroy Town Hall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>External painting of Kingaroy SES building and amenities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Replace carpet in Kingaroy SES office and program room<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>External painting of Kingaroy Heritage Museum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Extra water tanks for Durong Hall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install insulation and air-conditioning at Wondai SES shed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install internal upgrades and anti-graffiti treatment at the amenities block in QEII Park, Murgon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Repairs at Proston Show Grounds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cloyna Hall repairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install a 200m footpath from Kumbia State School to Francis Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install a footpath from the South Burnett Rail Trail to the Memerambi toilets and picnic table<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade Main Street, Maidenwell<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrades at the Bunya Mountains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Seal Burton Lane, Murgon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bitumen the Dingo Creek carpark in Wondai<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Replace aged timber surrounds at Dingo Creek<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Install kerbing and channeling at Hood Street, Proston<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>[UPDATED with correction]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South Burnett Regional Council will receive $1 million from the Federal Government\u2019s &#8220;Drought Communities Program Extension&#8221; for a string of local projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":276803,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[22,3],"tags":[1131],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
