RACQ LifeFlight has added two more\u00a0Challenger 604 aircraft to its medevac fleet.<\/p>\n

“The Challenger 604 aircraft is\u00a0the\u00a0longest-range aeromedical jet available for immediate emergency deployment in Australia,” LifeFlight spokesperson Peter Elliott said.<\/p>\n

“The aircraft can go to the majority of airstrips and townships in Queensland and bring those people to the major centres such as Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Brisbane. ”<\/p>\n

The RACQ LifeFlight jet fleet now consists of four Challenger 604s, two of which will be based in Brisbane and two in Townsville.<\/p>\n

“One of the new aircraft is replacing our Lear 45 jet\u00a0which has been based in Townsville for the past 10 years,\u00a0while the other is an addition to our fleet,” Mr\u00a0Elliott said.<\/p>\n

The latest additions arrived in Australia in February and have\u00a0since undergone an\u00a0extensive fit-out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Each aircraft can be airborne in as little as 90 minutes,” Mr Elliott said.<\/p>\n

“Each aircraft has a Captain\u00a0and First Officer as well as a Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse.”<\/p>\n

The jet fleet also services international clients, through travel insurance.<\/p>\n

“We have a large area where we operate, and that’s all the way through the South Pacific, Asia and beyond and the Challenger 604 is the perfect aircraft for that,” Mr Elliot said.<\/p>\n
