It was “back to school” on Monday across Queensland with in-classroom learning resuming for students in all years.<\/p>\n

Students in kindy, Prep, Year 1 and Years 11 and 12 began a staged return to normal schooling on May 11 but the rest of classes resumed this week.<\/p>\n

At St John’s Lutheran School in Kingaroy, principal Karyn Bjelke Petersen said she was thrilled to be welcoming all students back.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It\u2019s wonderful to come together, reconnect, re-establish friendships, have face-to-face conversations and support each other through this next stage,” Mrs Bjelke Petersen said.<\/p>\n

“Increased hygiene practices and social distancing for adults will continue to be in place around the school and we’ll be working hard to care for the well-being of all students as they re-adjust to new daily routines.<\/p>\n

“I would like to acknowledge the hard work our teachers have put into preparing online lessons during the past five weeks and congratulate our teacher aides for the way they’ve supported the children of essential workers who’ve had to attend school.”<\/p>\n
