Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council will receive just over $800,000 from the State Government to develop the next stage of its recycling centre.<\/p>\n

Council will receive\u00a0$807,365 towards the total cost of\u00a0$827,365 under Round 5 of the Building Our Regions (BoR) program.<\/p>\n

The grant will be used to improve efficiency at the Material Recovery Facility as well as assist with its long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n

Works will include the installation of an auto-tie chamber baler to compact paper and cardboard, a weighbridge, a fitted compressor extraction system for fine particle removal and an onsite diesel tank.<\/p>\n

The State Government has partnered with 39 local councils across Queensland to deliver projects through Round 5 of the BoR.<\/p>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said BoR was an investment in the future of Queensland and would play an important part in the State’s COVID-19 recovery.<\/p>\n

Round 5 focused on construction and planning projects that would create and sustain long-term employment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
