The Lady Bjelke-Petersen Hospital was the focus of discussion at Wednesday’s Council meeting<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Regional Council has appointed seven directors to the Board of the South Burnett Community Hospital Foundation Limited, meaning there are two vacant spots still left to fill.<\/p>\n

The Foundation, registered in 2015, supports the operation of the Lady Bjelke-Petersen Hospital in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Nominations were sought join the Board in January.<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s Council meeting was told the new Board would consist of former mayor Wayne Kratzmann (who has been with the Foundation since its formation),\u00a0Danita Potter,\u00a0Sheena Lindholm,\u00a0Helen Roth,\u00a0Karyn Bjelke-Petersen and\u00a0Kirstie Schumacher.<\/p>\n

Council’s representative on the Board will be Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitt.<\/p>\n

Mayor Brett Otto said Crs Potter and Schumacher would be sitting on the Board as community members, not as Council representatives.<\/p>\n

Council has selected the trees which will be planted to complete the landscaping at the Rogers Drive roundabout in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The species selected include Tristaniopsis\u00a0laurina<\/em>\u00a0(water gum) and\u00a0Buckinghamia celsissima<\/em> (ivory curl).<\/p>\n

The roundabout will contain shrubs and grass species selected in conjunction with Transport and Main Roads.<\/p>\n

These will include\u00a0Dietes<\/em>,\u00a0Tulbagia<\/em> (silver-laced striped grass),\u00a0Eremophila<\/em> spp. (emu bush),\u00a0Helichrysum orientale<\/em> (native daisy) and\u00a0Lagerstroemia<\/em>\u00a0(crepe myrtle).<\/p>\n

Vandalism has cost the South Burnett Regional Council nearly $15,000 in the past seven months.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SBRC has asked local residents to report vandalism to the Queensland Police if the incident is still in progress or if anyone has been seriously injured or in immediate danger, ring 000. Property damage can also be reported to police online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Vandalism should also be reported to Council on (07) 4189-9100 or by email<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
