Two new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in Queensland during the past 24 hours, taking the State’s total since the pandemic began to 1057.<\/p>\n

Health Minister Steven Miles said one of the confirmed cases was in the Metro South Health area and the other in the West Moreton region.<\/p>\n

Both are women who had recently returned from overseas.<\/p>\n

There are currently 13 active cases of COVID-19 in Queensland with four patients in hospital, including one person in intensive care.<\/p>\n

The remainder of active cases are recovering in isolation at home.<\/p>\n

A total of 1012 of the 1057 confirmed cases are people who had travelled overseas or interstate, or had close contact with a confirmed case, such as their partner or flatmate.<\/p>\n

However, 42 cases – including the most recent incident involving a nurse at Rockhampton – have had no known contact with a confirmed case and authorities cannot trace the source of the infection.<\/p>\n
