Some COVID-19 visiting restrictions have been eased in Queensland, just in time for Mother’s Day this weekend.<\/p>\n

Home visit restrictions will ease from Sunday when up to five members of one household will be allowed to visit another household.<\/p>\n

\u201cSunday is Mother\u2019s Day and because Queensland has been doing such a great job, from Sunday up to five members of a household may visit another home,\u201d Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is great news for families.\u201d<\/p>\n

There have been two new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State, taking the tally so far to 1045.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fifty cases are still considered active with 989 patients recovered.<\/p>\n

There have been a total of 124,898 tests done in Queensland since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n

Nationally, there have been 6875 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 26 new cases reported since 3:00pm on Wednesday. The death toll is 97.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Following the outbreak of a cluster of COVID-19 cases linked to the Cedar Meats abattoir in Victoria, Federal, State and Territory Agriculture Ministers have moved to reassure the public there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted by food.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the position of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand and other international food regulators,\u201d Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

The Victorian regulatory authority and the Federal Department of Agriculture does not intend to recall any products produced at Cedar Meats as they are safe.<\/p>\n

There have been 62 confirmed COVID-19 cases linked to the abattoir.<\/p>\n

The Agriculture Ministers met on Thursday to discuss how the sector is dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n
