Toowoomba Regional Council is inviting applications for the new Coronavirus Community Support Micro Grants program, part of the $10.5 million relief package endorsed by Council this week.<\/p>\n

Cr Geoff McDonald said the micro grants complemented State and Federal Government relief packages, filling a gap for groups that are not already receiving assistance.<\/p>\n

Cr James O\u2019Shea said the new program would provide grants of up to $499 for eligible organisations.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity groups, including sporting organisations, have until close of business, Friday May 15, to apply for grants of up to $499 for a range of equipment, upgrades and education opportunities through the program,\u201d Cr O\u2019Shea said.<\/p>\n

\u201cApplications will be assessed within a week of the closing date, with successful recipients starting to receive funding agreement forms by the end of May.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil\u2019s Community Development Officers will be able to assist groups in putting together an application.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the tight timelines for this special grant round, we will be only accepting emailed application forms.”<\/p>\n
