Queensland has had one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the State total since the pandemic began to 1034.<\/p>\n

The latest case was reported in the Metro South Health region in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

There are no new cases in the Darling Downs Health region.<\/p>\n

Twelve of the 94 active confirmed cases are in hospital, with six patients in intensive care.<\/p>\n

A total of 934 Queenslanders (90 per cent) have now recovered from the disease.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though Queensland has recorded very low numbers of cases this week, Queenslanders are reminded to continue staying home as much as possible, and stay in their suburb when undertaking essential activities such as going to the supermarket or exercising,\u201d Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said a total of 104,950 tests for COVID-19 have been undertaken in Queensland, with 3250 tests done in the previous 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Nationally, at 3:00pm on Wednesday, there had been 6746\u00a0confirmed cases\u00a0<\/strong>of COVID-19 in Australia, including\u00a089<\/span>\u00a0deaths;\u00a05667 patients have recovered.<\/p>\n

There has been 19 new confirmed cases reported across Australia since 3:00pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

NSW has had the most confirmed cases (3016), followed by Victoria (1354).<\/p>\n
