The LNP is calling for the State Government to show some common sense and re-think its new restriction on Queenslanders travelling more than 50km from their home.<\/p>\n

Opposition Leader and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said 50km was an impractical limit in most of regional Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201cLimiting travel to 50km might make sense in south-east Queensland but it makes no sense in large parts of the State,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a common-sense approach that takes in local expertise, not one that is designed just for Brisbane.<\/p>\n

\u201cA one-size-fits-all approach won\u2019t work in a big State like Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to be listening to locals and looking at easing restrictions on a region-by-region basis.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost towns outside the south-east are more than 50km apart, so this change will be of no help to people in the regions.<\/p>\n
