The regular quarterly Ag Network meetings for rural producers – organised by BIEDO – are going online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

An online trial of the traditionally face-to-face event will be hosted by BIEDO – using the free Zoom videoconferencing app – on Wednesday (April 22) at noon.<\/p>\n

This interactive and informal event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n

Rural producers interested in taking part can register on the BIEDO website<\/strong><\/a> where they will receive a link to join the Zoom meeting.<\/p>\n

BIEDO is also connecting to business people in the South and North Burnett areas via Zoom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Social distancing and other COVID-19 restrictions have meant change for all of us in one way or another,” BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm said.<\/p>\n

“While there are many challenges being faced at present, we are taking every opportunity to also use this time proactively to test and trial changes to the way we do things, including the way we connect and serve our community.”<\/p>\n

BIEDO is now hosting weekly “Brekky With BIEDO” meetings using Zoom.<\/p>\n

Kristy said the meetings were a\u00a0chance for BIEDO to see and hear from the\u00a0business community and to share information and updates about current assistance measures.<\/p>\n

Session information is shared via the BIEDO Facebook page<\/a><\/strong>, participation is free and everyone is\u00a0welcome to join.<\/p>\n

Kristy said topics which had been discussed recently included the JobKeeper\u00a0Payment scheme, sole trader support, the Qld Government\u2019s Care Army initiative and drought\u00a0recovery.<\/p>\n

“Next Wednesday we look forward to discussing JobKeeper in more detail, particularly the\u00a0fall in turnover requirement,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been great to have representatives from Bundaberg Business\u00a0Enterprise Centre\u2019s Business LEAP program and Rural Financial Counselling Service Southern Queensland join us and we look forward to having their input again\u00a0in coming weeks.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
