A range of COVID-19 measures have been implemented at Tarong and Tarong North power stations and Meandu Mine to ensure the safety of workers, their families and the community.<\/p>\n

Stanwell General Manager Generation Brad Perry said the health and wellbeing of employees, their families and the South Burnett community were a priority.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working every day to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest health advice and reflecting any changes within our workplace procedures,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nature of our business means some of our people are unable to work from home, however we have implemented strict controls to manage their safety while on site.”<\/p>\n

These include\u00a0promoting physical distancing; non-essential travel and meetings have been rescheduled, cancelled or undertaken virtually; cleaning protocols have been increased; and time and spacing restrictions have been imposed on onsite meetings.<\/p>\n

Mr Perry said as well as the health and safety of its people, Stanwell was also focused on maintaining the security of the electricity supply.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a critical role to play in the continuity of electricity supply to the people of Queensland,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur people have been proactive in applying the pandemic response measures, as they understand the criticality of our service.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey continue to practice measures, such as physical distancing, both at work and outside of work, so they can continue to keep the lights on across Queensland.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
