Kingaroy detectives have seized drugs and weapons after executing separate search warrants in Kingaroy and Nanango on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

As a result of the Kingaroy search, four people have been charged with a total of 13 offences, including\u00a0unlawful possession of firearms, receiving stolen property and drug-related offences.<\/p>\n

Officers allegedly recovered two recently stolen firearms as well as other electronic items and a small quantity of amphetamines.<\/p>\n

A 37-year-old Boondall man has been charged with possessing drug utensils.<\/p>\n

A 48-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with possessing drug utensils, unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

Both are due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 20.<\/p>\n

A 26-year-old Kingaroy woman has been charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils, receiving and possessing tainted property,\u00a0 and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. She is also due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 20.<\/p>\n

A 26-year-old Nanango man has been charged with obstructing police and possessing property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 13.<\/p>\n

The Nanango search resulted in two people charged for allegedly producing dangerous drugs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allegedly seized 10 cannabis plants and a quantity of hydroponic equipment during search.<\/p>\n

A 53-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, both from Nanango, were issued notices to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on July 16.<\/p>\n

Southern Regional Crime Co-ordinator, Detective Acting Superintendent Mat Kelly, said the arrests were the result of the local community working with police to reduce the prevalence of illicit drugs in rural areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese operations, supported by local intelligence and valuable information from across the community, will continue to be conducted across the South West District and throughout the southern policing region,\u201d Detective Acting Superintendent Kelly said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy disrupting criminal behaviour in this way, we aim to deter future offenders.\u201d<\/p>\n
