A teenage boy has been seriously burned in an accident near Yarraman on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a private address at 10:09am.<\/p>\n

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the boy had been helping a friend clear their garden.<\/p>\n

He was\u00a0reportedly trying to set green waste on fire, when the petrol he was using as an accelerant exploded.<\/p>\n

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter\u00a0was called just after 10:30am.<\/p>\n

QAS paramedics treated the boy for second\u00a0degree burns to the front of his body before the rescue helicopter arrived.<\/p>\n

He was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition with significant burns.<\/p>\n

Police are searching for a stolen vehicle spotted on Cherbourg Road on Wednesday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police Media said the vehicle, believed to have been stolen from Murgon on Tuesday, evaded police and headed towards Cherbourg.<\/p>\n
