An elderly Wondai couple has died after a single-vehicle crash on the Bunya Highway near Ficks Crossing on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called at 11:58am.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said the couple’s car left the highway and crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n

The driver, an 81-year-old man, and the passenger, a 76-year-old woman, were treated at the scene by QAS paramedics but were pronounced deceased a short time later.<\/p>\n

The highway was blocked – with diversions in place – while emergency services were at the incident.<\/p>\n

It was fully re-opened just before 5:00pm.<\/p>\n

Police are appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage of a white Toyota Aurion sedan (Qld registration 084-WNW) travelling along the Bunya Highway to contact police.<\/p>\n

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.<\/p>\n
