Heritage Bank in Nanango has placed an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the use of the public in emergency situations on the wall of its branch.<\/p>\n

The AED is inside an alarmed metal box\u00a0secured to the wall and is available 24\/7.<\/p>\n

The life-saving device is also being monitored by CCTV to deter would-be thieves or vandals.<\/p>\n

The unit has been supplied by Heritage Nanango Community Funding (HNCF)\u00a0for the safety of the public.<\/p>\n

It is located near the corner of Drayton and Fitzroy streets.<\/p>\n

“It is\u00a0placed between the entry door and the ATM. You can’t miss it really!” HNCF chair\u00a0Wendy Zerbst said.<\/p>\n

AEDs are simple for anyone to use.<\/p>\n

The unit provides the instructions, and automatically assesses whether someone who is having an apparent heart attack is a candidate for a life-saving jolt.<\/p>\n
