Another 22 people\u00a0graduated recently from Red Earth\u2019s Community Leadership Program, marking their achievement with a celebration at the Bunya Mountains.<\/p>\n

They have joined a growing band of Red Earth alumni, including several past graduates who have nominated for candidates at the upcoming South Burnett and North Burnett local government elections.<\/p>\n

Red Earth Community Foundation chair Georgie Somerset said the\u00a0South Burnett Community Leadership had been rebranded this year to reflect the involvement of North Burnett participants.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a proud moment for the South Burnett where our passion and commitment has spread to\u00a0inspire other regions to invest in their own people to ensure we are all set up for the future,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRed Earth is proud to be part of their journey, knowing that each graduate is set up by our\u00a0program to contribute throughout their lifetime to making their home and region a thriving and\u00a0resilient place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The graduation event was held last Monday night.<\/p>\n

Highlights included the\u00a0personal stories shared by participants and the speech by guest speaker and\u00a0leadership specialist, Simone De Haas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“She left everyone with a simple message to step forward\u00a0when leadership opportunities turn up,” Mrs Somerset said.<\/p>\n

“Simone reminded us that these will mostly be before you feel ready, however our ability to\u00a0understand the power of vulnerability and authenticity will see us succeed.<\/p>\n

“Red Earth Community Foundation sincerely thanks Simone, the facilitators of the residential\u00a0program, Better Results Together, and the army of volunteers who ensure that each cohort leaves the Bunya Mountains equipped for an even better future.”<\/p>\n

Applications will open in September for the 2021 Red Earth Community Leadership Program.<\/p>\n
