John Snow added a handy 68 runs to the Blackbutt total in the Timbertowners’ Plate final victory<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Timbertowners have wielded the willow like an axe, demolishing Kingaroy Services in the Plate Final of the South Burnett Cricket competition played at Blackbutt on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Blackbutt won the toss and elected to bat, setting an almighty target of 7\/406 for Kingaroy to topple.<\/p>\n

Opener Michael Marriott did the main damage, hitting an incredible 170 runs.<\/p>\n

John Snow (68), Kieran Harvey (60) and Mitchell Olzard (55 not out) put any chance of a Services’ victory beyond reach.<\/p>\n

Sam Scott was the best of the Kingaroy bowlers taking 3\/60 off his eight overs.<\/p>\n

In reply, Services was all out for 140 in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

Matthew Bradford top-scored with 35, just ahead of Justin Labinsky (31) and Luke Peters (30).<\/p>\n

Kumbia Rattlers, batting second, held on to defeat Kingaroy Services in the Cup Preliminary Final played at Kumbia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy won the toss and batted first, finishing with 9\/149 at the end of their 40th over.<\/p>\n

Taylor Hermann topscored with 33, just ahead of Hayden Wieck (30) and Luke Smith (29).<\/p>\n

Roger Hoare took three wickets for the Rattlers, finishing with 3\/28 off eight overs, while Keegan Wright took 2\/14 off seven.<\/p>\n

In reply, Kumbia overtook the total in the 32nd over but lost nine wickets along the way.<\/p>\n

Matthew Patroni took 3\/27 in his eight overs and Caylan Brown took 3\/36 off seven.<\/p>\n

Kumbia will face Murgon Diggers in the Cup Final next Saturday at Murgon Sportsground.<\/p>\n

UPDATE March 18:\u00a0 Because of the COVID-19 crisis, the Cup Final has been abandoned. Murgon has been declared victors of the 2019-20 South Burnett competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon Crusaders defeated Nanango Scorpions in a close Stage 3 junior cricket Grand Final played at Nanango.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon batted\u00a0first and a set a target of 136 after the loss of five wickets.<\/p>\n

Joe Meikle top-scored for Murgon, finishing 52 not out off 45 balls, knocking seven fours and two sixes.<\/p>\n

Hayden Martin was the best of the Nanango bowlers, taking 3\/20 off four overs.<\/p>\n

In reply, Nanango were all out for 101.<\/p>\n

Joe Steinhardt, who hit four fours and one six, was best with the bat for Nanango, finishing on 38.<\/p>\n

After starring with the bat, Joe Meikle also was deadly with the ball for Murgon.<\/p>\n

Meikle took two wickets in his two overs – which included one maiden – conceding just three runs.<\/p>\n

Nanango Scorpions proved too good for Kingaroy in the Stage 2 Grand Final played in Nanango on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The home team won by 38 runs.<\/p>\n
