The South Burnett Rugby League Centenary Dinner – due to be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on April 4 – has been postponed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

SBRL president David Tierney said the decision was made on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

“The decision was not made lightly however given the dynamic nature of the COVID-19 situation, it was made to ensure that the event, when held, is an event befitting such a momentous achievement for rugby league in the South Burnett,” David said.<\/p>\n

“Since making the decision to postpone the event, it has been confirmed that Kingaroy has its first case of the COVID-19 virus.<\/p>\n

“Given the current climate, a decision won’t be made on the new date until more is known.<\/p>\n

“In the meantime, if you wish a refund, contact the club or person from whom you bought your tickets for details. These will be processed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

“We apologise for any inconvenience regarding the postponement of the dinner.<\/p>\n

“However, we want to be able to provide an event that such an achievement deserves and, more importantly, to ensure the health of those that attend – neither of which we believe could happen given the prevailing conditions.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
