Offenders posing a risk to the community should not get bail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A police blitz on bail, appealing court decisions where appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 24\/7 Police Strike Team involving youth justice workers for high risk offenders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Culture-based rehabilitation for indigenous offenders through new On Country initiatives trialled in Townsville, Cairns and Mount Isa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Empowering local communities in the war on crime with $2 million for community-based organisations for local community-based solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0The 10 community-based crime action committees will be rolled out in:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cairns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Townsville<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Rockhampton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Mount Isa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Toowoomba<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Caboolture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ipswich<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Logan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Gold Coast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Brisbane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Five locations \u2013 Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane North, Logan and Rockhampton \u2013 will trial a new police\/youth justice worker partnership targeting high-risk offenders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related article: <a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2020\/03\/09\/lnp-promises-youth-crime-crackdown\/\">LNP Promises Youth Crime Crackdown<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A day after the LNP vowed to come down tough on young offenders, the State\u00a0Government has announced sweeping changes to crack down on youth crime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":176863,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
