A barbecue was held at the Kingaroy Ambulance Station on Thursday night to welcome new paramedics to Kingaroy and thank the volunteers who made the recent Centenary celebrations so successful.<\/p>\n

It was hosted by members of the Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee (LAC).<\/p>\n

Eight new paramedics have joined the Kingaroy Station recently, including several post-graduate students.<\/p>\n

Another new face is Acting Officer-in-Charge Jaime Magnussen, who is filling in while OIC Mei-Lin Dean is on leave.<\/p>\n

Jaime may be new to the station but is very familiar with Kingaroy as she grew up in the town.<\/p>\n

Another ex-Kingaroy resident to return among the new bunch is paramedic Ben Veivers who went to school in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy LAC president John Box thanked everyone who had supported the Centenary and welcomed two new LAC members, who had joined just in time to help with the organisation of the event: Kay and Darryl Dove.<\/p>\n

He said the LAC had put about $150,000 worth of gear into the station in recent years, including training gear and text books.<\/p>\n
