Kingaroy State High School graduate Megan Frohloff has been awarded the inaugural\u00a0Nanango Electorate Year 12 School Leavers Bursary.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington announced the winner on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Five applicants were shortlisted and then interviewed by Mrs Frecklington and a representative from the Red Earth Community Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very impressed with the calibre of applicants and the decision was a difficult one,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to announce Megan Frohloff of Kingaroy as the successful applicant.<\/p>\n

\u201cMegan will be undertaking a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at USQ Toowoomba \u2013 a profession she\u2019s entering due to the positive influence her own teachers at Kingaroy State High have had on her learnings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said many school leavers had to travel or move to major centres to access further education. and the bursary is designed to help with those costs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bursary is worth $1000 and aims to provide financial assistance with the costs associated with moving to their place of learning, the purchase of books, IT, tools or other necessary requirements,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Applications for the 2021 Deb Frecklington Nanango Electorate Year 12 School Leavers Bursary will open on October 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
