February 7, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organisers of Kingaroy Soccer Club’s big two-day Soccer 7s carnival will be watching the skies as rain continues to fall in the lead-up to the weekend.<\/p>\n

The Evolution Solar Soccer 7s attracts hundreds of players from across south-east Queensland every year and is scheduled to begin on Saturday morning, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

More than 40 teams have registered to take part, which means the four fields at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy should be busy both days.<\/p>\n

Competitions have been organised for Men (27 teams), Women (nine teams) and Over 35s (six teams).<\/p>\n

First games are due to begin at 10:00am on Saturday and 8:20am on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Finals will begin at noon on Sunday, with presentations at 3:30pm.<\/p>\n

As of Thursday night, the event was still going ahead despite the rain.<\/p>\n

UPDATE 7:30pm Friday: Organisers say the fields have been inspected and the carnival is definitely going ahead!<\/em><\/p>\n
