A man last seen with a car in floodwaters near Nanango on Monday night has been located safe and well.<\/p>\n

After a minor incident, he flagged down a passing vehicle, caught a lift and went home to bed.<\/p>\n

He was not reported missing.<\/p>\n

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.<\/p>\n

Witnesses had reported seeing a man and woman pushing a vehicle in floodwaters on the Burnett Highway near Stockyard Creek.<\/p>\n

The alert was raised after the car was later found abandoned.<\/p>\n

Police have confirmed the man was the only occupant of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

EARLIER:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police are appealing for urgent public assistance to help locate a man and woman who were last seen with their car in floodwaters near Nanango on Monday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just after 8:00pm, a man and woman were seen pushing a black Ford Falcon in floodwaters on the Burnett Highway near Stockyard Creek at Wyalla.<\/p>\n

The car was later found abandoned.<\/p>\n

Police are asking anyone who gave the couple a lift or knows their whereabouts to contact police immediately.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said specialist rescue crews were called to the incident just after 9:00pm to check the vehicle, which had been washed off the road.<\/p>\n

They located no one inside.<\/p>\n

They remained searching the area until about 1:00am.<\/p>\n

SES crews and Council workers were kept busy in the South Burnett overnight. <\/strong><\/p>\n

As well as the incident on the Burnett Highway at Wyalla, they were called to a landslip on the D’Aguilar Highway between Yarraman and Blackbutt.<\/p>\n

SES crews were also called to assist with storm-damaged roofs on houses in Nanango and Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
