A South Burnett man will be quitting his job after winning more than $690,000 in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto.<\/p>\n

The Blackbutt man, who wished to remain anonymous, picked the Division 1 numbers, taking home\u00a0$692,782.72.<\/p>\n

The man told a Golden Casket official on Monday morning he was still in shock.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just seems so surreal!\u00a0I went into the newsagency yesterday to check my ticket.\u00a0It was amazing. I just about collapsed!<\/p>\n

\u201cI was lost for words. I was completely speechless.\u00a0 I slept with my ticket under my pillow last night! I just can\u2019t get over it.”<\/p>\n

Asked how he planned to enjoy his life-changing prize, he said it was time to finally relax.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually on my way to work, can you believe that?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this will be the last time! I\u2019m retiring immediately.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve worked hard all my life so I\u2019ve earned this.\u00a0I\u2019ll spend my spare time going to the beach and just doing the things I\u2019m really passionate about.”<\/p>\n

The man bought his winning entry at Blackbutt News.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Newsagency\u00a0owner Deb Palmer said she couldn\u2019t be happier for her winner.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the second time we\u2019ve sold a Division 1 winning entry,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time was about seven years ago so it\u2019s great to do it again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to see this prize go to such a deserving and lovely man.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so happy for him and are sure he will really enjoy his prize!\u201d<\/p>\n

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto Draw 4021 were 33, 24, 17, 1, 10 and 29; the supplementary numbers were 26 and 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
