January 30, 2020<\/b><\/p>\n

A boy has been flown to hospital with serious leg injuries after he was bucked from a horse near Maidenwell on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the boy from a private property to Toowoomba Hospital.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 6:00pm and the rescue chopper was despatched about 7:00pm.<\/p>\n

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the primary school-aged boy had been riding a horse, when it bucked him off.<\/p>\n

The boy’s neck was reportedly caught in the reins as he fell.<\/p>\n

Ambulance paramedics were first on the scene and treated the patient for minor neck and serious leg injuries.<\/p>\n

The paramedics organised local vehicles to shine their headlights on an area of paddock to illuminate a landing pad for the LifeFlight helicopter.<\/p>\n

The boy was flown to hospital in a stable condition, accompanied by his mother.<\/p>\n
