Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is urging local schools to register for the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence to be held on March 15.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said this was the third year the campaign had been run, and it was gathering momentum in schools across Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn March 15, local students will join hundreds of thousands of other Australian students in taking a stand together against bullying and violence,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will stand proud with their school communities and say they will not tolerate any kind of bullying and violence in their schools.”<\/p>\n

State and private schools can get involved by registering through the Bullying. No Way! website<\/B><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great way to raise awareness of the issue and celebrate the wonderful things that local schools are doing to provide safe and supportive learning environments,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

She said there was a range of support materials available for schools, including the Stand Together 2013 curriculum resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cBullying affects everyone involved, including the people who witness it, and the new resources for this year will help students to understand the role they play as active bystanders to bullying.\u201d <\/p>\n
