Who will be the next King of Kingaroy?\u00a0The answer will be known after three nights of spectacular speedway racing at the Kingaroy Showgrounds this weekend.<\/p>\n

The action will begin on Friday night, continue on Saturday night and conclude with the crowning of the winner of the eighth annual Kings Royal on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Racing begins at 5:00pm on Friday and 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Kings Royal is a special series for Modified Sedans, ie. speedway cars built on the basis of a regular hard-top sedans, such as Commodores and Falcons, and is the richest event in its class on the Australian speedway circuit.<\/p>\n

Heats will be raced on Friday and Saturday nights before a series of dashes and “last chance” races and the 50-lap final on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Drivers will be competing for a $10,000 first prize cheque as well as the honour of being named “king”.<\/p>\n

More than 80 drivers have nominated for the Kings Royal, with a number of former “kings” taking part, including Greg Worling and Aidan Raymont.<\/p>\n

A big screen at the track will broadcast multiple camera angles, interviews and highlight packages to the crowd.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be other speedway classes in action over the three days as well: Production Sedans and Modlites on Friday; Street Stocks and Modlites on Saturday; and Juniors on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Queen’s Royal will also be raced in two classes – Top Stars and New Stars – on Sunday.<\/p>\n

This is the third year that the Queen’s Royal (for female drivers only) has been held but this year there will be two feature races, for new drivers and well as “old hands”.<\/p>\n

Entry costs per night are $25 for adults, $15 for pensioners \/ students and $65 for families.<\/p>\n

Three-day passes are also available: $60 adults, $40 pensioners \/ students and $150 for families.<\/p>\n
