Cherbourg Wellbeing is one of of four groups in the Wide Bay electorate which will receive funding under a Federal Government program aimed at helping businesses transition to the NDIS.<\/p>\n

The former Cherbourg Sports Club Inc will receive $20,000 as part of the $9 million national initiative.<\/p>\n

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O\u2019Brien said the grants were provided through Round 2 of the Transition Assistance Funding initiative under the Boosting the Local Care Workforce program.<\/p>\n

The objective of the Transition Assistance Funding is to help providers transition to the NDIS while also creating more jobs in the disability sector, particularly in regional, rural and remote areas across Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis funding will help Wide Bay organisations in their early stages of transition, ensuring they have the tools and capabilities needed to deliver supports to NDIS participants,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTransition Assistance Funding can be used for tailored business advice, software upgrades and other one-on-one supports that will go a long way towards helping local businesses to get NDIS-ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other Wide Bay organisations to receive funding are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Kieran Broome, Occupational Therapist – Imbil – $6372<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
