The current Wooroolin Fire and Rescue Station has been earmarked for replacement<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wooroolin firies shouldn’t give up on dreams of a new station … the State Government has promised construction will occur.<\/p>\n

The 2018-19 State Budget included an allocation of $800,000 out of a $1.4 million total for a new fire station in the town.<\/p>\n

But no work began on the project, and there was no mention of any allocation in the 2019-20 State Budget.<\/p>\n

This prompted Member for Nanango, Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington, to quiz Emergency Services Minister Craig Crawford in Parliament about what was happening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Crawford’s reply to the Question on Notice stated that construction of the\u00a0Wooroolin Replacement Auxiliary Station would begin in 2020-21 and\u00a0be completed\u00a0in 2021-22.<\/p>\n

“I am advised by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) that the Wooroolin\u00a0Replacement Auxiliary Station is in the forward QFES Capital Works Plan,” Mr Crawford wrote.<\/p>\n

“The sum of $800,000 was allocated in the 2018-19 Budget Paper 3 for the Wooroolin\u00a0Replacement Auxiliary Station with $600,000 to be allocated post 2018-19.<\/p>\n

“The build has\u00a0been deferred because QFES has determined there are greater priorities in the QFES\u00a0North Coast Region.”<\/p>\n
