Work has begun on planning next year’s celebrations to mark 100 hundred years of ambulance services in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

A planning committee was set up at the Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) meeting held at the Kingaroy station on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The centenary will be marked on Saturday, February 29.<\/p>\n

LAC president John Box said initial ideas included an open day at the station with displays of memorabilia.<\/p>\n

Former ambulance officers and people connected to the Kingaroy Ambulance Station would be invited to return for the day.<\/p>\n

The LAC meeting was also an opportunity to welcome new Kingaroy officer-in-charge Mei-Lin Dean, who has transferred to Kingaroy after serving at Murgon.<\/p>\n

Mei-Lin, who is the first woman to be appointed OIC in Kingaroy, took over from former OIC Travis Cramb on November 11.<\/p>\n

Travis has been appointed Operations Supervisor at the Darling Downs Local Ambulance Service Network, based in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n
